TEAD project final event: results, experience and prospects

On 25 September 2025, the final event of the TEAD (Training for Energy Auditors and Designers) project, implemented with funding from the European Union, took place. For three and a half years, the team and partners worked on developing the profession of energy auditors in Ukraine, creating high-quality training programmes and spreading knowledge about energy efficiency.

The event was opened with welcoming remarks by representatives of the EU in Ukraine, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and the KPC consortium, who emphasised the importance of TEAD for building Ukraine’s capacity in the energy sector.

Key results

Project manager Rafal Stanek presented an overview of TEAD’s achievements: from the launch of training courses to the introduction of modern methodologies and the formation of a community of energy auditors. Key experts Kateryna Shyshka and Anatoliy Chernyavsky shared insights on the training of energy auditors for the construction sector, industry and SMEs.

Voices of participants and trainers

Programme participants shared their stories about the impact of training. They noted that the knowledge gained through TEAD became an impetus for professional development and practical application in communities and companies. Trainers emphasised that the programme not only developed skills but also created an atmosphere of inspiration and professional support.

A look into the future

The head of the Association of Energy Auditors, Vadym Lytvyn, emphasised the importance of developing the profession, improving the quality of services and expanding the energy audit market. A separate section was devoted to the topic of gender equality. Olga Vergeles and Chantal van den Bosche emphasised that women in energy auditing face real barriers, but at the same time are becoming drivers of innovation, inclusiveness and sustainability.

Conclusions

The event ended with a question and answer session, during which participants discussed challenges and future steps to support the sustainable development of the profession.

The final event was a vivid summary of TEAD’s many years of work and confirmed that investment in training, inclusiveness and professional standards creates the basis for Ukraine’s reconstruction and energy sustainability.
